Details remained relatively scarce, with the album’s title only emerging shortly before its arrival following a number of delays. The album also features an impressive collection of guests from across the musical landscape. DRAM, Westside Gunn, Steve Lacy, Earl Sweatshirt and Kamasi Washington are among those who contribute to the project, adding further variety to an already intriguing collaboration.

At its core, 'Before The World Blows' brings together the experimental nature of both artists. The Alchemist provides textured production for Badu to explore, resulting in a project that moves between soul, hip-hop and alternative influences without feeling restricted to one particular sound.

With 16 tracks to explore, the album offers plenty for longtime followers of both artists while presenting one of the year’s more interesting musical partnerships.
