The Game continues his legacy with ‘The Documentary 3’

More than two decades after the album that helped cement his place in West Coast hip-hop, The Game has returned to one of the most important chapters of his career with 'The Documentary 3'.

The new release marks Game’s 11th studio album while continuing a series that began with the original 'The Documentary' in 2005, followed by 'The Documentary 2' a decade later. Now, another 11 years on, the Compton rapper is revisiting the franchise that has remained closely connected to his musical journey.

Game had previously spoken about wanting to return to 'The Documentary' around the 20-year anniversary of the original album. Since then, anticipation surrounding the third instalment has continued to grow, with his recent activity putting the spotlight firmly back on the West Coast veteran. That included a memorable Verzuz battle against fellow Compton rapper YG. The pair also joined forces for “Red People,” with Game later confirming YG as one of the artists appearing on the new album.

For 'The Documentary 3', Game has assembled a huge 24-track collection featuring artists from different eras of his career alongside some of the leading names from today’s West Coast scene. Drake, Ye, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Tyga, PARTYNEXTDOOR, YG, Leon Thomas, Black Thought plus Larry June all make appearances. The album also features Drakeo The Ruler, Lefty Gunplay, AZ Chike, RJmrLA plus longtime Game collaborators Mike & Keys, giving the project a mixture of established relationships and newer West Coast connections.

With 'The Documentary 3', Game isn’t simply returning to a familiar album title. He’s adding another chapter to a body of work that has followed him from his breakthrough years to the present day, bringing the story of The Documentary full circle more than 20 years after it first began.
