Rod Wave has held the crown for ‘King of Pain’ for some time now, he loves crafting songs for those who are going though emotional times. Subject matters heavily focus on backstabbing, yearning for a perfect partner and confusing relationship situations. He kick starts the year with a brand new single ‘Westside Connection’, hopefully this a sign of more music to come this year.

This tack focuses on dealing with an inconsistent girl, he does still give her a lot of credit for helping him during dark times. “I was in a dark place when you had found me / I was already drowinin when you had found me” he sings. Despite bring grateful for her it still sounds like she has her own faults which he touches on. “Just met an uphill battle, it’s okay I was made for this / and you were never there for me, I tried to give you everything, you can’t get away with this.”
