BigXthaPlug returns to his hip-hop roots with new album ‘BETTER OVER TIME’

BigXthaPlug is shifting his focus back to hip-hop with the release of his fourth studio album, 'BETTER OVER TIME', a new 18-track project featuring an impressive selection of guest appearances. The Dallas rapper enjoyed a successful crossover into country music in 2025 with 'I Hope You’re Happy', which debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. Now, he’s returning to the sound that helped establish his name, delivering a project that places his signature rap style firmly back in the spotlight.

Released through 600 Entertainment, 'BETTER OVER TIME' features contributions from several notable artists, including Leon Thomas, Ava Max, Babyface Ray, Lil Yachty, GloRilla, Loe Shimmy, Ro$ama and Fridayy. The diverse lineup brings different musical influences to the album while maintaining a strong hip-hop foundation.

Ahead of the album’s arrival, BigXthaPlug introduced listeners to ‘BURN’, his collaboration with Ava Max, alongside ‘LITE’ featuring Belly Gang Kushington. The latter was accompanied by an official music video, co-directed by the rapper himself alongside Jerry Morka. Another notable addition to the tracklist is ‘NO LIMIT’, featuring Leon Thomas, which incorporates a hook referencing the late hip-hop legend The Notorious B.I.G. Having continued to expand his musical reach through collaborations such as ‘Cold’ with Post Malone, BigXthaPlug is now placing renewed emphasis on his solo artistry.

With 'BETTER OVER TIME', the Texas native looks to build on his growing success while reconnecting with the hip-hop sound that first brought him widespread recognition.
