Metro Boomin is digging deep into his roots and giving flowers to a defining era of Atlanta hip-hop with his latest release, 'A Futuristic Summa'. Inspired by the high-energy sounds of the early 2000s, the mixtape is a nod to the 'Futuristic Era' - a time shaped by artists like Yung L.A., Roscoe Dash, J Money, and the Rich Kidz, who helped pioneer a colourful, melodic style that left a permanent mark on Southern rap.

Presented by DJ Spinz, the double-disc project is more than a nostalgia trip. It’s a full-blown celebration of ATL’s evolution, bringing together some of the city’s most iconic voices. From trap pioneers like Gucci Mane and T.I. to modern staples like Young Thug and Future. Even Waka Flocka Flame and 2 Chainz make appearances, bridging multiple generations of Atlanta greatness.

Metro has called 'A Futuristic Summa' his favourite project to date, and it’s easy to see why. It’s personal. The mixtape channels the excitement of Metro’s early days, when he would travel from St. Louis to Atlanta with his mother just to make studio sessions and soak up the city’s creative energy. That same spirit of hustle and hometown pride is laced throughout the entire tape.

Coming off a monster year that saw him release not one, but two collaborative albums with Future (We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You), Metro shows no signs of slowing down. A Futuristic Summa is a heartfelt salute to the city that shaped him, and a reminder that Atlanta continues to set the tone for what’s next.
