It’s already been a defining year for Marnz Malone. Following his release from prison and return to Jamaica, the Birmingham-affiliated artist quickly reconnected with fans through the release of his 15-track project 'Yaqeen'.

Since then, speculation around his next move has been constant. Fans have been questioning what would come next - new collaborations, another project, or a different creative direction altogether. Instead, Marnz surprised many by announcing his retirement from rap, later clarifying that he would be stepping back and taking a break.

Despite that announcement, he has still delivered new music, unveiling a powerful new track titled ‘Kill The Buddha’. Drawing inspiration from Zen Buddhist teachings, the record explores the idea that true growth often requires letting go of who you once were - even the parts of yourself you might be most proud of. It’s a reflective concept that adds depth to an already striking release.

Across the track, Marnz delivers his verses with sharp precision and intensity, showcasing the lyrical strength that has earned him such a loyal following.

Whether he ultimately retires, takes an extended break, or returns with more music in the future, ‘Kill The Buddha’ serves as a reminder that Marnz Malone remains at the peak of his powers right now.
