Manchester rapper Kenzo Str8Drop has officially arrived with his highly anticipated debut album, ‘Hood Exit’ - a 12-track project that showcases an artist intent on turning his experiences into something bigger.
Before the album's arrival, Kenzo gave listeners a taste of what was coming with singles ‘Opp Weather’ and ‘Who Needs Enemies?’. Both releases set the tone for a project built around gritty realism, sharp lyricism and an artist determined to tell his story without compromise.

Across the album, Kenzo demonstrates his ability to tell stories, build worlds and create a vivid picture of the environments that have shaped him. Rather than relying on a crowded list of collaborators, ‘Hood Exit’ keeps the focus firmly on Kenzo, with Shepherd’s Bush rapper Marlow P providing the project's only guest appearance on ‘New One’.
Production plays a crucial role throughout ‘Hood Exit’, with longtime collaborator Kong working closely alongside Kenzo to create the sonic foundation for the album. Across the 12 tracks, the pair explore different musical pockets, giving Kenzo the space to stretch his delivery while pushing his sound into new territory.
That creative freedom is particularly significant given the journey that brought him here.
Kenzo has consistently treated obstacles as foundations rather than limitations. His period of incarceration, which could have stalled his momentum, instead propelled him further into the spotlight.
The time away provided an opportunity to sharpen his craft, reassess his direction and return with an even clearer understanding of the artist he wanted to become.
Hood Exit’ takes that momentum further. The album feels like the culmination of everything Kenzo has built so far - a project shaped by adversity, ambition and an unwavering belief in his own ability. Every track adds another piece to the picture, creating a body of work that feels personal without losing the energy that has driven his rise.
