Lucky Daye embraces creative freedom on new album ‘ALOUD!’
GRAMMY-winning singer, songwriter and producer Lucky Daye returns with ‘ALOUD!’, a bold, 15-track album that finds the contemporary R&B artist embracing creative freedom and exploring a more uninhibited side of his artistry.
Featuring collaborations with Leon Thomas, Pusha T, Muni Long, The Paradox and Akeem Ali, the project brings together a diverse range of voices, with longtime collaborator D’Mile among an all-star roster of producers helping shape its sound.
Named for the tension between 'allowed' and 'aloud', the album explores the boundaries we place on ourselves and the freedom that comes with challenging them. Across its tracklist, Lucky encourages listeners to live, love and move on their own terms, making space for desire, self-expression and the contradictions that come with personal growth.
Born out of an unexpected sabbatical in Brazil, ‘ALOUD!’ moves fluidly between intimate R&B, electronic textures, smoky grooves and raw rock-soul. Rather than settling into one sound, Lucky uses the project to explore different musical directions, bringing together its varied influences through his distinctive songwriting and vocal approach.
With two GRAMMY wins and 13 nominations to his name, Lucky Daye has continued to push the possibilities of contemporary R&B. ‘ALOUD!’ builds on that reputation while placing creative autonomy at the centre of the conversation.
