Juls & Projexx connect on collaborative album ‘Junction’

Three years in the making, Juls and Projexx have finally unveiled their highly anticipated collaborative album ‘Junction’, bringing together the sounds, stories and shared cultural influences of Ghana and Jamaica.

The project finds the long-time collaborators exploring the connections between both nations, drawing on their shared histories, communities and creative traditions to create a body of work that feels both deeply rooted and effortlessly contemporary.

At the heart of ‘Junction’ is a seamless meeting point between Dancehall and Afrobeats. Juls' understated production provides the foundation, blending rhythmic influences from across Africa and the Caribbean, while Projexx brings his distinct vocal style and Jamaican perspective to the project.

That cultural exchange has been at the centre of their collaboration from the beginning, and across ‘Junction’ the pair have created a sound that feels bigger than either location individually. It's a celebration of the musical conversations that have been taking place between Ghana and Jamaica for generations, while adding another chapter to that ongoing exchange.

Previously released singles ‘RARRI’ and ‘TARGET’ give listeners an early glimpse into the project's energy, but the full album expands that world considerably. Juls and Projexx are joined by an impressive collection of collaborators, including Boj, Valiant, Pa Salieu, Winny, Tay Iwar, Haile and Jahmiel.

For Juls, ‘Junction’ adds another chapter to a decade-long run that has seen the GRAMMY-nominated producer and DJ establish himself as one of the most influential figures in global Afrobeats. His ability to move between Afrobeats, reggae, soul, hip-hop and dancehall has made him a natural fit for a project built around cultural exchange.

Projexx brings an equally versatile approach to the collaboration. The Kingston-born artist has built a reputation for his genre-fluid songwriting, making him the perfect counterpart to Juls' production style.
