South London singer-songwriter JGrrey has released her highly anticipated 13-track debut album, ‘you, me and jen’, bringing together an eclectic line-up of collaborators, including M Huncho, Erick The Architect, Kofi Stone and Bel Cobain.

The project also features contributions from an accomplished roster of producers and creatives, including Maths Time Joy, Fred Cox, Harry Jowett, Harry Beech, Humble The Great, Kadiata, Owen Cutts, Harve and Baker Aaron, helping shape a body of work that moves across a range of sounds and perspectives.

JGrrey - you, me and jen

Lead single ‘Deh Pon’, produced by Baker Aaron, draws on JGrrey’s Jamaican heritage, weaving island influences through its flow, language and energy. Elsewhere, the previously released ‘pedigrree’ offers an introspective look into the project, while ‘take my hand’ leans into neo-soul with Bel Cobain, and ‘bedbug’ pairs JGrrey with Brooklyn rapper Erick The Architect over a hip-hop backdrop. Most recently, ‘believe’ offered another glimpse into the album’s emotional depth.

At its core, ‘you, me and jen’ explores identity, belonging and self-reliance, making room for the contradictions that come with understanding yourself. Experiences of adoption, absent parents and difficult relationships inform reflections on family, faith and the search for reassurance, while questions around race and identity broaden into a call for greater nuance in an increasingly polarised world.

Vulnerability sits alongside nostalgia, as JGrrey draws connections between past and present versions of herself. The album also makes space for the joy and freedom found in queer community, femininity and friendship, balancing its more difficult reflections with moments of celebration and strength.

With ‘you, me and jen’ now out in the world, JGrrey brings this deeply personal collection of stories together as her debut album. Plans for live shows and a tour are also underway, offering audiences the opportunity to experience the project beyond the record.
