Future appears to be gearing up for his next chapter, returning with a major new collaboration that brings together some of rap’s biggest names. Titled ‘YA HIT’, the Atlanta heavyweight joins forces with Drake, Travis Scott, Loe Shimmy and Sexyy Red for a release that has already captured attention across the hip-hop landscape.

There is plenty to unpack within the line-up alone. Future and Drake’s complicated relationship adds another layer of intrigue, while the track also reunites Drake and Travis Scott for their first collaboration since 2023’s ‘Meltdown’. Bringing rising Florida talent Loe Shimmy into the mix, alongside guest ad-libs from Sexyy Red, makes for an especially compelling combination of artists.

Produced by ATL Jacob, with mastering handled by Mike Dean, ‘YA HIT’ leans into a darker, hard-hitting sound that feels well suited to the current direction of mainstream rap. Loe Shimmy takes the lead on the hook, setting the tone before each artist brings their own delivery and approach to the record, creating a collaboration that moves between distinct styles without losing its overall energy.

For Loe Shimmy, sharing a record with such an established line-up represents another significant moment in his rise. Having steadily built his reputation within the Florida rap scene, the opportunity to stand alongside Future, Drake and Travis Scott places him in some serious company.

The release also arrives amid growing speculation surrounding Future’s next full-length project, rumoured to be titled 'INFINITY'. While details remain under wraps, ‘YA HIT’ is a significant move from the Atlanta artist and will undoubtedly add to the anticipation surrounding whatever he has planned next.

With this many names involved, ‘YA HIT’ was always going to generate conversation. But beyond the headline-making collaboration, the track offers another reminder of Future’s ability to bring together different corners of rap culture, while leaving plenty of questions about what comes next.
