Diaspora Calling! set to make historic UK debut with Ms. Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Giggs & more!

Ms. Lauryn Hill's long-awaited Diaspora Calling! is preparing to make its historic UK debut, taking over the Milton Keynes National Bowl on Friday 7th August with a landmark celebration of music, culture and the African diaspora.

Headlined by the legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill in what remains her only confirmed UK performance of 2026, the festival has now unveiled its final wave of artists. The global icon will be joined by neo-soul pioneer Erykah Badu, UK rap icon Giggs, Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Fireboy DML and acclaimed comedian and cultural commentator Dave Chappelle, who will host the landmark event.

They join an already standout lineup led by Lauryn Hill, who is set to reunite with Wyclef Jean to celebrate the 30th anniversary of 'The Score', alongside performances from YG Marley and Zion Marley.

Originally conceived by Lauryn Hill in 2016, Diaspora Calling! began as a multidisciplinary platform celebrating the creativity, history and shared experiences of the African diaspora. What started as a curated exhibition and live performance in Brooklyn has since evolved into a global cultural movement, championing artistic expression, collaboration and community across music and the arts.

Erykah Badu remains one of the defining voices of neo-soul, whose influence stretches far beyond music into fashion, spirituality and contemporary culture. Giggs continues to stand as one of the architects of modern British rap, while Fireboy DML has become one of Afrobeats' most recognisable global ambassadors, helping to elevate African music on the world stage. Meanwhile, Dave Chappelle brings another dimension to the programme, with his renowned storytelling and thought-provoking social commentary set to guide audiences through the day.

Taking place at the iconic Milton Keynes National Bowl, the event will feature a single main stage alongside a curated food village celebrating flavours from across the diaspora. Combining world-class performances with culture, community and celebration, the venue provides the perfect setting for what promises to be one of the UK's most significant live music events of the year.
