Ceebo continues to pull back the curtain on 'Bloccstar'. With his highly anticipated new mixtape on the horizon, the Lambeth artist links up with UK drill and rap luminary Blanco for ‘Gets Like Dat’, delivering another glimpse into the world he is carefully constructing around the project.

Built around a sombre jazz loop and energised by captivating drums, the record creates plenty of space for both MCs to make their presence felt. Ceebo and Blanco meet the production with their unique flows, bringing a sense of urgency to a track that is ultimately concerned with the realities that come with pursuing music as a career.

Both rappers reflect on the pressures that can come with turning art into a livelihood, examining the sometimes opposing forces of commerce, ambition and artistic expression. That conversation has been central to Ceebo’s 'Bloccstar' rollout so far.

On ‘Parable Of A Skinnyman’, he explored consumerism and the question of artistic integrity, offering an early indication that the mixtape would be about far more than simply documenting his rise. He followed it with ‘Revolut’, a more celebratory come-up anthem that saw him take the rollout beyond the music itself by sending personalised ‘Bloccstar’ debit cards to fans and industry figures.

‘Gets Like Dat’ adds another dimension to that story, and the choice of collaborator is particularly telling. Blanco has spent the past decade establishing himself as one of the UK’s most singular and pioneering voices, consistently operating outside conventional expectations while developing a style that remains entirely his own.

As Ceebo continues to unravel the world of 'Bloccstar', ‘Gets Like Dat’ provides another compelling piece of the puzzle - one that finds him reflecting on what it means to turn a creative passion into a career, without losing sight of why he started in the first place.
