After years of anticipation, Anderson .Paak and Cordae have finally delivered their long-awaited collaborative album, 'Heavy Is The Crown', bringing their musical chemistry together across an 11-track project. The two artists first showcased their connection on “RNP,” a standout track from Cordae’s 2019 debut album 'The Lost Boy'. Their effortless chemistry quickly caught the attention of listeners, sparking demand for a full-length project that would allow them to explore their sound together.

Officially announced in August, 'Heavy Is The Crown' sees the duo build on that foundation with contributions from an impressive selection of producers. The album reportedly features production from J. Cole, 9th Wonder, Hollywood Cole, Conductor Williams and Swizz Beatz.

The album’s artwork brings a playful element to the release, reportedly drawing inspiration from the comedy film Step Brothers. However, behind the lighthearted presentation lies a project that explores some deeply personal experiences.

Throughout the album, both artists offer glimpses into their private lives, addressing relationships, family dynamics and moments of personal reflection. Cordae touches on the complicated relationship between his mother and former partner, while Anderson .Paak reflects on an incident involving alcohol at his child’s birthday celebration. These vulnerable moments introduce a more serious dimension to the project, creating a contrast with the humour surrounding its visual identity.

With 'Heavy Is The Crown', Anderson .Paak and Cordae demonstrate why their partnership has attracted so much attention over the years. Combining their distinct musical personalities with honest storytelling, the album marks an exciting milestone for two artists whose creative connection has been evident since their earliest collaboration.
