On Friday 15th August, CGuk were on the ground at Victoria Park for a special edition of All Points East, where the Provenance showcase delivered an unforgettable mix of music, theatre, and spectacle. With exclusive performances from SAULT, Chronixx and Cleo Sol, the day was a journey framed by ambitious staging and production.

The build-up set the tone, with standout performances from Sasha Keable, Nao, and Ms Dynamite - each bringing their own energy and reminding the crowd of the depth of talent across the UK scene. Gospel legend Kirk Franklin followed, wowing fans with a soulful and long-awaited set that had the audience fully in sync.

As day turned to night, the intrigue of the staging became more apparent. A towering pyramid-like structure sat perfectly in the centre of the crowd, shrouded in mystery before revealing its purpose. What followed was 30 minutes of theatrical performance, complete with a full choir, visuals and dramatic movements exploring themes of colonialism. While bold in concept, the extended theatrical interludes left some fans disengaged, with sound design not always suited to a festival setting.

When the music did hit, however, it hit hard. SAULT took centre stage, with Cleo Sol lifting the energy through her radiant, soulful vocals. The set seamlessly blended into surprise appearances from Mos Def, sparking one of the night’s biggest reactions. Cleo and SAULT returned later with another stunning performance.

The night continued to unfold like chapters in a story. Chronixx entered with an orchestral introduction, before diving into his celebrated catalogue of reggae anthems. His set was elevated further by the arrival of Kelissa, whose voice perfectly complemented the flow and spirit of the show. After an incredible run of songs, Chronixx was followed by another guest appearance from Mos Def.

Though some fans drifted away as the night grew long, the show found a final moment of intimacy as Cleo Sol reappeared, closing out the event with selections from her solo material - leaving those who stayed until the end in awe.

All Points East: Provenance was far from a conventional festival experience. It was daring, ambitious, and at times challenging - but it offered audiences the chance to witness world-class artists in a format that pushed beyond standard live performance into theatre, storytelling, and immersive world-building.
