Wolves launch their ground breaking record label 'Wolves Records'

Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club have launched a ground breaking new venture, and have joined forces with Warner Music UK's Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA) to kick start the first ever record label launched by a UK football club.

The label, Wolves Records, is an ambitious and unique proposition that will unite two of the world’s biggest passions – music and football Combining the reach of the Premiere League football club with the industry expertise from ADA, this new initiative serves as an exciting proposition for aspiring and already established artists. Wolves Records are already inviting track submissions from local, national and international acts via the website.

Wolves have been investing their efforts in projects outside of football for some time now and after making huge progress in the world of esports and fashion, it is now time for them to conquer the music industry. While the label’s initial focus will be on nurturing and developing talented artists of all styles and genres local to the Midlands, Wolves Records’ ambition is to expand into international territories.

To aid the label in their search for a first signing, Wolves Records is also partnering with various A&R and production consultants, the first of which is singer, songwriter, producer and Wolves fan and ambassador, S-X. A familiar face here at CGuk, and an act who has operated at the highest level both as a producer and artists, working with the likes of Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper, J. Cole and Skepta;

“I am very excited to be involved and support Wolves Records from the beginning and am looking forward to helping identify the best local talent and working with the label’s first artists." - SX

Legendary music manager Peter Rudge, who managed The Who and The Rolling Stones amongst others and is the recipient of over 270 gold and platinum album awards, has also joined Wolves Records as a strategic consultant.

"Football and music are a universal language. Wherever in the world you visit you will likely see a Beckham or a Beatles t-shirt, and the footballers of today have so much in common with musicians in terms of influencing and setting the cultural tone of the times.n Wolves and Warner Music’s ADA will merge these two cultures and partner in combining their respective skills and assets to develop Wolves Records, and in turn support, nurture, and encourage the local music community." - Peter Rudge

It is clear to see that Wolverhampton Wanderers FC have adapted to Premiere League life and are a driven, ambitious, forward-thinking club who are destined to increase their status not only on the pitch, but off the pitch aswell. This new initiative is sure to result in some talented artists achieving huge things, so waste no time and get your submissions in via the Wolves Records website.
