After launching himself into to the scene as a solo artist, with two huge singles ‘Slither’ and ‘Days Gone’, emerging rapper Elijah continues on his path to success with his latest release ‘Hooks’. His huge yet underrated joint project ‘Hours’ with fellow rapper and friend Decarno dropped late last year, where we saw impressive features from the likes of Brandz and House Of Pharoah’s own Blaze YL. Elijah set the bar very high for his forthcoming solo ventures. Then his first official single ‘Slither’ picked up critical acclaim not only online but throughout the industry, with a hype surrounding his name that was hard to escape. He returned with ‘Days Gone’ another dark and energetic joint with an unexpected tempo switch up and is here again with a thumping tune ‘Hooks’ – this artist is truly making moves.
The track is a darker variation of Elijah’s usual hard-hitting, yet bouncy beats and is a stark ode to securing the bag. Speaking on the track, he states;
"I felt to do something different this time around and explore my darker side. It’s always exciting to be able to tell my story in a different way"
Elijah has used his passion for freestyling and gift of rapping with ease and put it into something others can appreciate. It wasn’t until him and Decarno, met one of the UK’s most gifted emerging producers MG, where things really came to life. Using their joint passion, the trio built a studio and began recording, producing, mixing and mastering all of the tracks themselves. Elijah and MG have now been working closely together and have a library of huge tunes ready to release this year.
With ‘Slither’ and ‘Hooks’ being a significant introduction to Elijah as a solo artist, he continues his upwards trajectory and his crisp, authentic sound and need for experimentation is a perfect formula for success.
Keep locked into his movement’s this year, there’s a lot more to come from this young prodigy.
