By now you should all know that Funkmaster Flex’ show loves to showcase bars and raw talent. It also seems to be becoming a part of every rappers press run, building up to their albums. We previously heard Meek Mill come and tear up the Hot 97 studio prior to ‘CHAMPIONSHIPS’ and Lil Baby also stepped up at Hot 97 too. Just a day away from the release of ‘Hoodie SZN’, A Boogie decides it was his turn to touch Flex’ mic.
Before kick starting the freestyle A Boogie proves he is a man of his word and offers to personally listen to the top ten weekly artist submissions that Flex gets and pick a best verse, which may or may not receive a feature from the rapper. The rapper proves that he is not like your typical artist to step up Funk Flex’ show, we are used to that raw freestyle sound, Meek was a perfect example of this a few weeks ago.
A Boogie touches the mic and brings more of his melody rather than hard hitting bars and while this may disappoint some Hot 97 freestyle viewers, he flows over the beat effortlessly. He showcases that he can hold his own and stay in his own lane on a typically ‘bar filled’ freestyle show
