After dropping his ‘Revival’ album last year, Eminem wasn’t too happy with the feedback it received and decided it was time for another project. Out of nowhere the Detroit superstar decided to drop a surprise album titled ‘Kamikaze’, executively produced by Dr Dre and Slim Shady. Not only was no one expecting this latest edition, but I don’t think anyone was ready for how many people Eminem would come for on this project. The surprise album is available to stream down below or via all premium streaming services
1. The Ringer
3. Lucky You ft. Joyner Lucas
4. Paul - Skit
6. Em Calls Paul - Skit
7. Stepping Stone
8. Not Alike ft. Royce Da 5'9
11. Nice Guy ft. Jessie Reyez
12. Good Guy ft. Jessie Reyez
The Detroit rappers surprise project contains 13 tracks in total and features a few guest appearances; Toronto singer Jessie Reyez, Joyner Lucas and Royce Da 5’9 are all names amongst the track list. The rapper has gone for a more low-key approach for the features, selecting artists for talent rather than their big name. However, Eminem has worked with some of the biggest producers in the game right now; Tay Keith, Mike WiLL Made It, Boi-1da and more all utilise their skills on the tape.
As stated earlier, one of the big talking point about the album was all of the rap artists that Em decided to address on a few tracks from ‘Kamikaze’. Lil Yachty, Lil Pump, Machine Gun Kelly, Tyler The Creator and more are all mentioned by the Detroit legend. Not only does the ‘Revival’ rapper call out some famous rap artists, he also comes for a few industry heads too; DJ Akademiks, Joe Budden and Charlamagne Tha God also get their moment of fame.
