Casa Bacardi ft. Stefflon Don, Kojo Funds, Dapz On The Map & more! - 07.07.18

Earlier this month, Bacardi, the largest family owned spirits company across the globe, brought their 'Do What Moves You', and 'Casa Bacardi' campaign to the 0121 for an action packed event at the 'Boxxed' venue in Digbeth. For just £5 the people of Birmingham had the opportunity to see Stefflon Don, Kojo Funds, Dapz On The Map, Swifta Beater, Roxxxan and more!

With such a reputable organisation coming to Birmingham, it was great to see the rising stars from the city feature on the line up. The night kicked off with 0121's very own, Production/DJ duo, Demtew (Gallah & Horrickle), who set the vibe correct with a wide selection of the best sounds from within the scene. As the crowd warmed up for the first act of the night another upcoming Birmingham DJ, Timma T, shared the decks with Gallah and Horrickle adding a new energy to the Warehouse venue.

Demtew and Timma T ensured that the crowd were eager for some live music by the time our first act blessed the stage, and it was no other than Roxxxan, one of Birmingham's most talented female creatives. She has built a strong name for herself over the years and has been bringing some high quality music to the table as of late. Roxxxan graced the stage with pure energy and passion for the music, interacting with the crowd and ensuring that all eyes were on her.

The 0121 DJ trio continued to bring the energy with the venue filling up in large amounts. The exclusive Bacardi cocktails were flowing, and it was definitely time for one of the Second City's longest standing, but still most relevant artists to come and showcase their talents. Dapz On The Map was warmly greeted by his fellow Brummies as he dropped some of his biggest hits including 'Dem Man Lie', a recent installment from himself and Blay Vision which has been getting serious love. Not only this but we were also treated to an exclusive debut performance of an unreleased track which features Scorpz, and despite his absence, the energies were felt and the joint is sure to make serious noise when it officially drops. Shortly following Dapz, Swifta Beater took to the decks to control the crowd, bringing the hardest sounds compiling them into a expertly delivered set.

As the night grew later and later, it was almost time for the headline act to return back to her home town, but first the crowd would be blessed with another UK superstar in Kojo Funds. The crowd were sent into uproar when Timma T called the 'No Stalling' creator to the stage, who walked on to the sounds of screaming females, and a sea of iPhone cameras capturing the moment. The sounds of Check, Fine Wine, No Stalling and many more tracks from his deep catalogue of hits had the crowd gripped to his every move, in awe of his presence.

There is no doubt that Kojo came through and had the entire venue indulged into his stage presence, but there was still more to come. With Timma T maintaining the positive vibes that had already been created by bringing the energy out of those in attendance with blends of Bashment and Dancehall, it was almost time for the headline act, and Stefflon Don was about to send the crowd crazy with an energetic, expertly choreographed set.

The Birmingham born talent graced the stage with strong self belief that she was about to kill her set. Such confidence in the way she walked and carried herself as she began to delve deep into her popular catalogue. The crowd recited almost every lyric while Steff brought the vibe and delivered her art to the finest standard. A flawless performance which will not be forgotten, and if there was anyone in the room who wasn't a fan, then it is safe to say that they are now...

Huge props have to be sent out to Bacardi and the team behind the event for not only bringing a huge line up to the city, but for also showcasing the underground talent in the likes of Gallah, Horrickle, Timma T and the rest of the 0121 creatives that were involved in this shut down special.
