S-X - SHOW #1 - 13.01.2018

January 21, 2018

It was the second Saturday of the new year, and Broad Street, Wolverhampton had been flooded by teenagers who were eagerly awaiting the doors of the historic venue 'The Slade Rooms' to open. A passer by would have thought a highly prestigious vocalist, or band were set to take stage. Little did they know the ques were for a homegrown producer, turned artist, who was preparing himself to perform at his debut Headline Show.

People far and wide have become familiar with the name 'S-X', but it is normally for his expertly constructed beats. The WV creative has worked with YMCMB, Chilidish Gambino and some of the biggest UK MC's, but over the past 12 months, S-X has effectively re-created himself as an artist. It doesn't seem forced, in fact, it seems ever so organic. It's clear to see that he has always projected himself through music, whether it be a beat, or a complete track with his vocals. The high levels of quality have always been there for S-X as a producer, and after taking in the 'House Clothes' project it is clear to hear that he has maintained those levels of quality in his new venture, but, taking that same energy and quality to the stage is a complete different task in itself. One that S-X had clearly been preparing for during the build up to the show.

After Wolverhampton's very own, DJ Springa, warmed the energetic crowd up, 9pm hit, and S-X took to the stage, ready to 'wow' his fans with a full showcase of his talents. As soon as he walked out dressed in a vibrant silver coat, you knew full well that it was going to be a night which would spark the beginning of something great. The lighting, sound levels, his interaction with the crowd, energy on stage, was all perfect.

The 400+ crowd was gripped from the get go as S-X worked his way through his material. The crowd was full of fans singing along, watching his every move, and as soon as Jaykae joined S-X on stage it was confirmed that the energy levels inside 'The Slade Rooms' were set to rise. The duo performed 'Anymore' a track produced, and vocalled by S-X which features on the Brum Town captains popular project 'Where Have You Been?'. Jaykae then stook around for a while as S-X departed the stage for a well earned break. The 'Moscow' instrumental ran through the speaker system, and Jaykae performed the track which has gone on to become one of the biggest songs to come out of the 0121.

After a brief interval, S-X returned to the stage, and it is at this point that he sends the crowd into raptures. Performing tracks like 'Plans', and 'Still I Get', we see the crowd break out into moshpits, as they re-cite his material lyric for lyric. Flash lights can be seen from the front to back. It was clear some career changing, and life changing moments were taking place.

As the night drew to a close, local YouTube sensations, TGF, joined S-X on stage. The duo have become YouTube stars picking up millions of subscribers and building a huge fan base. Throughout their releases they have embedded a number of S-X's tracks, which has made the transition from producer to artist that little bit easier. So, it was only right that they made an appearance to soak up the atmosphere. Before the trio called it a night and wrapped up the show, they performed 'Plans', the perfect way to close what had been an iconic evening for everyone involved.
