The American Music Awards 2016: The Round Up!
The 2016 American Music Awards was broadcasted live last night on November 20th via ABC. This year's AMA's were hosted by Gigi Hadid and Jay Pharoah at the Los Angeles Microsoft Theater. Every year we get to see a couple of performances at the awards and this year wasn't any different; Ariana Grande, Nicky Minaj, DJ Khaled, Future, John Legend all performed on the night.
Bruno Mars kick started the night with a performance of his record '24K Magic', he even performed in a 80s style tracksuit with a gold chain to fit the feel of his track. Before taking home their award, Fifth Harmony performed 'That's My Girl', followed by the performance of 'Closer' by The Chainsmokers. One performance that stood out the most, was Green Day' one, they used their stage time to make a statement about Donald Trump - "No Trump, No KKK!, No facist USA" they chanted.
DJ Khaled also brought his crew along with him when he performed his hit record 'Do You Mind' featuring the likes of; Nicki Minaj, Future, Rick Ross and August Alsina - the performance had everyone on their feet. ICYMI: Rick Ross even announced his 9th studio album 'Rather You Than Me' during the award show via his social media - hence why he rocked up at the AMA's wearing a 'Rather You Than Me' jumper.
As expected before the award show, Drake gathered quite a few awards that night - with 13 nominations you can't really say you was surprised. He basically swept all of the rap/hip-hop awards, winning favourite album, favourite artist and favourite song. You can check out the full list of winners below.
