NEXT UP: Young M.A

Meet Young M.A, she is a Brooklyn artist who practically took the Summer by storm with a single record titled 'OOOUUU'.

New York was represented perfectly this Summer by Young M.A, she brought her raspy voice to a track 'OOOUUU' which currently sits at 85 on Billboard's charts. Her name hasn't been popping for long and I think she has a lot of potential to offer, look at what she has achieved this year already... Releasing her first 6 track E-P 'SleepWalkin, reaching Billboards charts, performing at the 2016 BET Awards and having a record that is spun heavily in the streets and clubs. The US scene is very hard to become established in and as a 24 year old she has firmly planted her feet into the rap game.

The record 'OOOUUU' that has put M.A in the position today currently has 37,300,000+ views on YouTube and sits at #83 on the Billboard charts. This track has literally got everyone talking about her, she has even had a few big names hop on the 'OOOUUU (Remix)' - French Montana, 50 Cent, Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma. The record has that Summer anthem feel to it, whilst keeping it real about her lifestyle. She even got the opportunity to show her record live to millions at the 2016 BET Awards. You can listen to her version and the 50 cent remix of 'OOOUUU' here...

Young M.A Ft. 50 Cent - OOOUUU (Remix)

When The Fader sat down with M.A earlier this year they discovered the emotion behind the 'OOOUUU' record blowing up. "What's it like to have our shit blasting out of cars all the time, hearing your song be the song?" to which the Brooklyn artist replies "It's crazy man. It's surreal to me. It be times when I come out the crib and somebody's driving past playing it. I can't really explain it". Clearly she is surprised herself about all of the success and its no wonder, coming from very little exposure to suddenly being in the public eye can be overwhelming.

Not only has 'OOOUUU' achieved M.A a spot on the Billboard Charts, but it has also got her a place on The BET stage, you can watch her 2016 performance below.

Young M.A - Oh My Gawdd (Freestyle Video)

If this freestyle doesn't show you how much potential the NYC artist has, then I don't know what will. To hop on Jay Z's 'You, Me, Him and Her' beat and go crazy on it, is a big statement from such a small artist. If Young M.A is consistent with her music, I believe that the only thing that could stop her from blowing is getting in trouble with the law.
