Nigerian alté trailblazer Tim Lyre continues to build anticipation for his upcoming album 'SPIRAL' with the release of his latest single, ‘Lock In’, featuring longtime collaborator and alté mainstay BOJ. Their second link-up following last year’s romantic favourite ‘All Night’, this track finds the duo gliding over a refined amapiano backdrop with undeniable chemistry.
‘Lock In’ opens with lush keys and shimmering percussion, as Lyre paints a vivid picture of infatuation, confessing his focus on a muse that has captured both his heart and imagination. BOJ slides in with a smooth verse of his own, mirroring the sentiment with his signature laid-back tone and effortless delivery.
Elevated by subtle saxophone flourishes and orchestral strings, the track not only showcases the pair’s musical synergy but also hints at the sonic direction of Lyre’s forthcoming album. Set to release on 26th June, 'SPIRAL' is shaping up to be a defining chapter for Tim Lyre.
The new drop makes a strong case for why he remains one of the most exciting voices in the alté and Afro-fusion space today, so be sure to check it out below, and let us know your thoughts.
