Birmingham-raised artist and producer Shayk returns with his most ambitious body of work to date, unveiling his 11-track album ‘FORWARD’ - a bold and deeply personal project that offers an unfiltered reflection on identity, place and modern Britain.
Having steadily built a reputation through his own releases while also lending his production talents to artists including Jorja Smith and Jianbo, Shayk has developed a sound that feels uniquely his own. Fusing influences from three decades of British underground electronic music with his unmistakable Midlands perspective, his music is as vibrant as it is bleak, balancing high-energy production with introspective storytelling.

Borrowing its title from Birmingham's historic coat of arms, ‘FORWARD’ explores what it means to grow up in a post-industrial, multicultural city through Shayk's eyes. The album uses the city's famous motto as both a celebration and a subtle critique, questioning narratives of progress while examining the realities faced by those living within the communities that shaped him.
Across the project, Shayk channels the spirit of its title into every track. Hyperactive production, visceral electronic textures and uncompromising lyricism combine to create an immersive listening experience, with his blunt observations and sharp philosophies providing the emotional core of the record.
Rather than offering easy answers, ‘FORWARD’ invites listeners into Shayk's world, painting an honest portrait of ambition, frustration and resilience against the backdrop of contemporary Birmingham. It is a project that feels deeply rooted in its surroundings while remaining sonically adventurous throughout.
As Shayk continues to establish himself as one of the Midlands' most exciting creative voices, ‘FORWARD’ stands as a defining statement of intent.
