Reuben Aziz builds towards his next chapter with ‘real u’

Southampton-born, London-based singer-songwriter Reuben Aziz releases 'real u', a new single that arrives with significant momentum after building an audience around the track before its official release.

The song first began gaining traction through a snippet shared across Reuben's social channels, with listeners quickly connecting with its understated sound and memorable chorus. That momentum carried into his sold-out London headline show in August, where fans already knew the words to the hook.

At the centre of 'real u' is Reuben's stripped-back approach to production. Built around guitar and self-produced by the artist, the track leaves plenty of space for his soft, caressing vocals and lyrics that draw from real-life experiences. That simplicity is part of what makes the record so immediate.

Rather than relying on heavy production, Reuben allows the songwriting and vocal performance to carry the emotion, creating a song that feels intimate and familiar without losing its sense of polish.

The release follows an action-packed 2026 for Reuben, with 'real u' providing another marker of the steady momentum surrounding his music. The response to the song before its official release also points towards an audience increasingly invested in his sound and the stories behind it.

As he closes out the year, Reuben Aziz continues to build on that momentum with this new release setting the tone for what could be an even bigger chapter in 2027.
