Major Lazer and M.I.A. are back together for an unexpected but welcome collaboration titled 'Where's The Daddy?' - a track that taps into the energy of their early 2000s partnership, and released as part of Major Lazer’s 'Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do '15th Anniversary Edition.
The track pairs M.I.A.’s sharp commentary on fatherhood and society with Major Lazer’s iconic, punchy production. The project celebrates the pioneering 2009 album with a collection of unreleased material, bringing back M.I.A.’s fearless spirit to Major Lazer’s distinctive beats. The reunion also includes Major Lazer founders Diplo and Switch, who co-produced some of M.I.A.’s career-defining hits like 'Paper Planes'.
This release, alongside the expanded album, offers longtime listeners a fresh-yet-familiar soundscape while honoring the Major Lazer-M.I.A. connection that reshaped electronic and global music.
