South London’s own Ms Banks has kicked off 2026 with intent. After setting the tone earlier this year with 'WHY?', she now returns with the announcement of her forthcoming debut album, a brand new single and confirmation of a UK and European tour.

Leading the rollout is the project’s title track, 'South LDN Lover Girl', a record that sees Banks pivot from her trademark rapid-fire flows to deliver something more stripped-back and emotionally direct. Produced by GA, the track provides a spacious backdrop that allows her vulnerability and storytelling to take centre stage, revealing another layer to her artistry.

The album has been gradually taking shape through recent releases including November 2025’s '4C' and this year’s 'WHY?', with each drop hinting at a broader, more personal narrative. With 'South LDN Lover Girl', that vision becomes clearer. Speaking on the project, Banks has shared that the album reflects her experience growing up as a second-generation Black African woman in South London - an exploration of identity, love, culture and resilience.

Set for release on 13th March 2026, the album marks a significant milestone for an artist who has long been one of the UK’s most commanding rap voices. If the title track is anything to go by, 'South LDN Lover Girl' will set a new benchmark for Ms Banks’ already impressive catalogue.
