Mariah the Scientist returns with her fourth studio album, 'HEARTS SOLD SEPARATELY', a project drenched in the lush energy of 80s power ballads. Following 2023’s 'To Be Eaten Alive', the Atlanta singer-songwriter embraces a retro-inspired sound while weaving in her signature modern flair.

The lead single, 'Burning Blue', hinted at the sonic direction, balancing vintage textures with contemporary polish. The gamble paid off - it’s become one of Mariah’s most celebrated tracks to date. That success set the stage for the album’s full 10-song tracklist, which is packed with heartfelt anthems about romance, vulnerability, and choosing love despite the odds.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the project, Mariah explained that today’s climate made her want to focus on love in its purest form. For her, the album doubles as a message to women - that love is still worth prioritising, but only when given to someone who truly deserves it.
In the album’s trailer, she puts it poetically: “We are heartbeats in a world full of hollow men, defenders of a cause worth living and dying for.” With 'HEARTS SOLD SEPARATELY', Mariah revives the spirit of a bygone era and also reframes love as something powerful and essential in today’s world.
