Following the release of her debut EP 'Mama Says', rising talent Jael returns with ‘The Air Belongs To Us’, an emotive bonus track that extends the world of her debut project.
Leaning into the signature balladry that has quickly become central to her artistry, ‘The Air Belongs To Us’ places Jael's powerful vocals firmly at the forefront. Intimate and vulnerable, the track explores the fragile space between holding onto a relationship and recognising when it may have reached its natural limit.
Rather than feeling like an afterthought, the new release adds another layer to the story Jael began telling on 'Mama Says'. The debut EP introduced listeners to an artist unafraid to explore the complexities of love, loss and relationships through some deeply personal songwriting, which is of course complimented by her soulful delivery. ‘The Air Belongs To Us’ continues that approach, allowing Jael's voice to carry the weight of the record.
The release also arrives at an exciting point in Jael's journey beyond the studio. Having recently made her live debut at All Points East, she is now preparing to take her music to international audiences, joining Cat Burns on her forthcoming Australian tour.
