Jacquees recruits Lil Baby for new remix of ‘Lick Back’
Jacquees has given his single 'Lick Back' a fresh update, teaming up with fellow Atlanta artist Lil Baby for a new remix that brings an additional hip-hop influence to the R&B track.
Running for approximately two minutes, the latest version introduces Lil Baby’s distinctive rap delivery alongside Jacquees’ signature melodic vocals, creating a collaboration that connects two of Atlanta’s recognised names in contemporary music.
The original version of 'Lick Back' arrived on 12th June, featuring New Orleans rap veteran Juvenile. Jacquees also took creative control of the accompanying music video, directing the visuals himself and choosing New Orleans as the filming location, paying homage to Juvenile’s musical roots.
Following its initial release, the track was included on Jacquees’ 'Mood 2' project, which arrived on 31st July. Serving as the follow-up to his 2016 mixtape 'Mood', the 22-track release features several notable collaborations, including 'Physical' featuring Tink and 'Let You Go' alongside K Camp. The project also includes the track 'He Kant'.
By introducing Lil Baby to 'Lick Back', Jacquees is extending the lifespan of the single while bringing renewed attention to 'Mood 2'. The remix offers existing listeners a different take on the record while potentially introducing the track to a wider hip-hop audience.
