Hamdi & D Double E link up for new drop ‘Heart & Soul’
Hamdi links up with grime veteran D Double E on 'Heart & Soul', bringing together the Oxford-born producer’s bass-heavy sound with one of the genre’s most recognisable voices.
The collaboration sees Hamdi’s weighty production meet D Double E’s unmistakable delivery, creating a natural connection between contemporary UK dance music and grime. With both artists bringing distinct strengths to the record, the single draws on their respective sounds while allowing space for the collaboration to take shape.
The release follows a significant period for Hamdi, who recently signed to RCA Records UK as his profile continues to grow. Having spent more than a decade honing his production, he broke through to a wider audience with 'Skanka', a track that became a key release in the recent resurgence of dubstep and helped establish him as a major name in UK dance music.
Since then, Hamdi has continued to build on that momentum, moving between club sounds and collaborations while maintaining the bass-driven approach that first brought him attention. Linking up with D Double E adds another dimension to that progression, connecting his production with the legacy and influence of one of grime’s most distinctive MCs.
For D Double E, the collaboration offers another opportunity to bring his unmistakable style to a different musical setting. His presence gives 'Heart & Soul' a clear connection to grime’s foundations, while Hamdi’s production keeps the track firmly rooted in the energy of the dancefloor.
As the year draws to a close, Hamdi shows little sign of slowing down. 'Heart & Soul' adds another collaboration to an increasingly varied catalogue, with the link-up further demonstrating how UK dance music and grime continue to influence one another.
