Ceebo explores ambition, ethics & identity on ‘Bloccstar’

Lambeth-raised artist Ceebo arrives with 'Bloccstar', following singles including 'Parable Of A Skinnyman', 'Revolut' and 'Gets Like Dat' with Blanco. Across the mixtape, he examines the internal conflict that can emerge when ambition begins to challenge personal ethics, using his own storytelling to explore what happens when the desire to progress comes into tension with the principles that shape you.
The music moves freely between different sides of contemporary UK rap, taking in the rawness of the underground alongside more polished records with crossover appeal. Ceebo doesn't limit himself to one sonic approach, allowing the production to shift with the ideas at the heart of each track while maintaining a clear sense of identity throughout.

That range is reflected in the guest appearances. Blanco returns, while the 400 crew - N4T, Chefbkay, Syst7m and Jbiz - also feature. On 'Macbeth’s Soliloquy', Ceebo goes bar for bar with UK rap veteran Wretch 32, bringing together two generations of London's rap scene.
Elsewhere, 'H.I.T.H' pays homage to RAY BLK's 'My Hood', adding another connection to the London music culture that informs Ceebo's own work. The reference feels fitting within a body of music that repeatedly considers environment, identity and the journey from where you start to where you want to be.
The attention to detail isn't limited to the music. Ceebo built anticipation for 'Bloccstar' through a carefully considered rollout, with 'Revolut' accompanied by personalised Bloccstar debit cards sent to fans and industry figures. Freestyles and behind-the-scenes footage shared through his martysupreebo burner account added another layer to the campaign, giving listeners glimpses into the world surrounding the release.
At its best, 'Bloccstar' finds a balance between substance and enjoyment. Ceebo's ideas never prevent him from having fun with the music, while the varied production and sharp writing give the mixtape enough movement to keep its central themes from feeling overworked.
With 'Bloccstar', Ceebo continues to show the patience and imagination behind his approach, using music, visuals and rollout to build something that feels considered from beginning to end.
