Amahla takes control on ‘Only Yours For The Moment’
East London singer-songwriter Amahla returns with ‘Only Yours For The Moment’, a bold new single produced by WAVSDNTDIE that puts her storytelling and vocal ability firmly in the spotlight.
Written solely by Amahla, the track follows a woman who discovers someone else has their eye on her man and decides to take matters into her own hands. Rather than sitting back and watching events unfold, she approaches the situation with confidence, bringing a playful sense of confrontation to the song’s narrative.
Musically, ‘Only Yours For The Moment’ is driven by an infectious ’70s funk-soul groove. As the track develops, sweeping violins, cellos and a full horn section add further drama, building the tension around Amahla’s sharp lyricism and commanding vocal performance.
The single highlights Amahla’s ability to turn a relatable situation into an engaging musical story, balancing humour, attitude and soul with a sound that feels rich and full-bodied. Her writing remains at the centre of the record, with the arrangement building around the narrative rather than overshadowing it.
‘Only Yours For The Moment’ adds another dimension to Amahla’s growing catalogue, continuing a journey shaped by thoughtful songwriting and a distinct musical identity.
For a closer look at the artist behind the music, Amahla also features in the latest edition of CGuk’s inQUIZitive series, where she shares more about herself, her creative process and the influences behind her work.
