Dublin-based singer-songwriter Aby Coulibaly returns with her latest release ‘Control’ - a track that transforms the uneasy reality of insomnia and mental overload into something unexpectedly vibrant, rhythmic and life-affirming.

At its core, ‘Control’ explores the cyclical nature of intrusive thoughts and the familiar frustration of lying awake while the mind refuses to switch off. It captures that distinctly human experience of nighttime overthinking. Rather than leaning into heaviness, Aby flips the narrative. ‘Control’ pairs its emotionally charged subject matter with an uplifting, groove-led energy that feels almost cathartic in its delivery.

Aby first introduced the track live at last month’s Brick Lane Jazz Festival, where its hypnotic pulse and emotional weight immediately connected with the audience. Even in its early form, the reaction suggested a record that resonates deeply in a live setting - something that translates just as powerfully in its official release.

Over recent years, Aby Coulibaly has steadily built a reputation as one of Ireland’s most distinctive emerging voices, known for her ability to blend introspective songwriting with subtle, genre-blurring production. With ‘Control’, she continues to expand that identity - delivering a track that feels both personal and universally relatable.
